Program Summaries and Success Stories

Good Debt vs Bad Debt

This program teaches students the difference between good debt, which can help build wealth, and bad debt, which can lead to financial strain. Through interactive activities and real-life scenarios, students learn to make informed decisions about borrowing and spending.

Success Story:

After completing the program, 5th grader Jordan applied what he learned by advising his family on making a smart investment in a used car for his father’s delivery business, recognizing it as good debt that would generate income rather than just a regular expense.

The Money Book Battle (Primarily for Grades K-3)

The Money Book Battle is a fun, competitive reading program where students explore financial literacy through engaging stories. Designed for K-3 students, this program encourages reading while teaching basic money concepts like saving, spending, and sharing.

Success Story:

First grader Emily, initially reluctant to read, became the class champion after immersing herself in a story about a pig who learns to save. Her newfound interest in reading also sparked her curiosity about money, leading her to start a small piggy bank savings at home.

Fun Financial Basics

Fun Financial Basics introduces students to essential money management skills, such as budgeting, saving, and making wise spending choices. The program uses games and interactive lessons to make financial literacy accessible and enjoyable for all ages.

Success Story:

In just a few weeks, 4th grader Michael was able to save enough money from his weekly allowance to buy a new soccer ball. He proudly shared with his class how budgeting for the first time helped him reach his goal without asking his parents for extra money.

Money Makers In Training Entrepreneurial Program and Field Trip

This entrepreneurial program empowers students to explore business ideas and develop basic entrepreneurial skills. The experience culminates in a field trip where they meet local business owners, providing real-world insight into running a successful business.

Success Story:

During the program, 6th grader Aisha developed a business plan for selling homemade cakes. After the field trip, where she met a local entrepreneur who inspired her, Aisha launched her cake business during a summer camp, earning enough to cover her startup costs and reinvest in her growing venture.

Ways to Donate

General Donation

Sponsor Books

Many students don’t have easy access to books. Reading exposes children to new words and concepts. Since financial literacy isn’t taught in school, a book is a great option for both parent and child to learn together. Students will receive books monthly.

Sponsor a Worksheet

Incorporate your logo, products, and/or services on our worksheet designed to teach our students about money.

Sponsor a Business

Our students who participate in our Products and Profits program are learning to start their own businesses. Our student population could use some monetary assistance with start up costs or services for their business endeavors.

Sponsor Incentive

Our organization provides money, toys, and other incentives for student activities and participation.

Sponsor a Program

Each program series takes place for 8 weeks. Sponsoring one program could make all the difference and includes students starting their own bank accounts.

Sponsor a Student

We need your help in reaching more students. Each student will receive financial literacy training along with incentives and prizes.

Transparency and Accountability

Financial Information

Donation Tracking

Donor Management System: Kash Kids utilizes a donor management system to meticulously track every donation received. This system records the donor’s information, the amount donated, the donation method, and any specific program or initiative the donation is earmarked for.

Allocation of Funds: Each donation is allocated according to the donor’s wishes or where it is most needed, ensuring transparency in how funds are used. Donors receive a confirmation and a thank-you message detailing how their contributions are being utilized.

Reporting: Regular financial reports are generated to provide an overview of how donations are distributed across various programs, ensuring that funds are used efficiently and effectively.

Student Feedback

Surveys and Interviews: After participating in Kash Kids programs, students are asked to provide feedback through surveys and interviews. This feedback helps us understand the students’ learning experiences and the impact the program has had on their financial knowledge and behavior.

Anecdotal Success Stories: We also collect anecdotal success stories directly from students and their families, which provide qualitative insights into how the program has positively influenced their financial habits and decision-making.

Program Completion Rates

Enrollment and Attendance Tracking: We track enrollment numbers and attendance rates for each program to ensure students are fully engaged. High completion rates indicate the effectiveness and appeal of the program.

Completion Certificates: Students who successfully complete a program receive a certificate, and these completion rates are reported as a key indicator of program success.

Financial Literacy Assessments

Pre- and Post-Program Testing: To measure the direct impact of our financial literacy programs, students take assessments before and after participating. These tests gauge their understanding of key financial concepts such as budgeting, saving, investing, and debt management.

Progress Reports: The improvement in scores from pre- to post-program assessments is documented in progress reports, showcasing the tangible impact of the education provided.

Longitudinal Tracking: For ongoing programs, we track the long-term retention of financial concepts by conducting follow-up assessments, ensuring that students continue to benefit from the knowledge gained.

Reporting Back to Donors

Impact Reports: Donors receive detailed impact reports that summarize the outcomes of the programs they’ve supported. These reports include statistics on student participation, improvements in financial literacy, and success stories that highlight the real-world impact of their contributions.

Regular Updates: In addition to annual reports, donors are kept informed through newsletters, emails, and social media updates, ensuring they see the ongoing results of their generosity.
